I’m the Creative Director & Head of VFX Production of the company, which covers multiple roles from project management with clients to technical mentoring, on-set supervision and problem solving with about my 18 years of CGI / VFX artist experience.
How did you get into the industry?
Couple roads crossed each other. My father is an architect and my mother is a photographer, I consider the vision required in the film industry a mix from a bit of both. I was also keen on computer games in my teen-ages and learned 3D level design for certain games. I mixed these 3D skills with a Marketing Specialist University degree and ended up in advertising.
What is your superpower?
I think it is improvising and problem solving with unorthodox out-of-box thinking approaches. I think it is important to focus and optimise the work on exact details which will make the project awesome and not get lost on unnecessary ones.
What were your favourite projects so far?
I get more attached to projects wherein the possible outcome promises to be more memorable or unusual, have artistic values and/or be technically challenging. Lately I enjoyed most working on the BBC Winter Games trailer gig with Balazs Simon, who is a genius director and CGI artist. The workflow included mixed techniques and it enlightened the fire in all of us why we got into this business originally.
What do you do if you are not working?
The common ground of my active hobbies is probably freedom and speed. Ageing through skate- and snowboarding, downhill riding. Passive hobbies would be filmmaking and photography. I recently got deeper into FPV drones which is an immersive experience of flying and a combination of all my favourite things before in addition to travelling, hiking and exploring the remaining beautiful places of our planet, please like and subscribe to my channels: Youtube, Insta. ;) …and I have a cat.
How do you grow professionally?
I think one of the good sides of social media platforms is you can customise your interests and watch trends focused. If I see something new and get my attention I can’t sleep until I get a deeper understanding of it and try to implement it into our upcoming projects. Now it is about AI tools most of the time and the world of drones.
