I am a detail-oriented creative problem solver. I have been working for GYAR since the beginning. Now leading the composition department here at GYÁR. In the past, I was colorist, compositor, editor, supervisor, project manager. Due to the nature of my previous wide experiences, I understand the end-to-end process of the post production from the quote to the final handover. I am glad if the whole process is seamless & our clients are happy.
How did you get into the industry?
I was a big gamer back then, I admired the game cinematics, which also gave me a professional interest to dive into. I was still in high school when I started to pop into a post prod company (where a good friend of mine’s father was a co-owner) just to be around and to have access to special CGI hardware/software to learn as much as possible. Later I studied electrical engineering & IT subjects for shorter-longer periods in different universities. During these years, I had a summer internship at the Hungarian state-owned television channel where I started to study the Da Vinci software. The mentioned studio where the GYÁR co-founders, Robi & Gergő worked previously, so I was among the first who heard about the kick-off of GYÁR, as we have been close friends with Gergő (the CEO of GYÁR) since our early childhood.
What is your superpower?
Patience. Also being humble enough. Persistence, tenacity, being able to work hard. There were projects sometimes when I was able to go home for showers and quick naps through days because clients were here from London and the TVC must be done on time before they go back home. You shall not go home before being confident that we will ship quality stuff for sure before the deadline.
What were your favourite projects so far?
I have a lot, because, as you know, not every one of our productions has VFX, but all of them have composition works, so I could bring up a long catalogue of projects. But perhaps the most memorable work, because of the long-time collaboration, is the Head & Shoulders TVC post productions, we produced them worldwide from 2006 for 5+ years for Saatchi & Saatchi London –– here you can check a few of our related works on Vimeo: Sofia Vergara, World Cup Casillas, Parkour, Joe Hart, Vicky.
What do you do if you are not working?
As much family time as possible. Hiking, snowboarding, skiing, basketball.
